PAULA HITCHCOCK

Paula J. Hitchcock age 51 of Edina, Missouri, passed away Tuesday morning, December 6, 2016 at the Knox County Nursing Home at Edina, Missouri.

Born January 20, 1965 in Columbia, Missouri, Paula was a daughter of Donald Wayne and Louise B. (Morgan) Fogle, Sr.

Surviving are her mother, Louise B. Baker of Quincy, Illinois; a daughter, Waunita Cheatum and her husband, Jeremy of Edina, Missouri; three grandsons, Jacob, Lucas and Mason Cheatum of Edina, Missouri; two sisters, Lisa Kindhart of Illinois, and Regina Fitzpatrick of Hannibal, Missouri; a brother, Donald W. Fogle, Jr. of Shelbina, Missouri; and several nieces and nephews and aunts and uncles.

She was preceded in death by her father and an infant son, Jimmie Francis Sharp, Jr.

Paula lived in the Edina and Lewistown area.  She enjoyed gardening and she especially enjoyed her grandsons.

A memorial service will be held 2:00 P.M., Sunday, December 11, 2016 at the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Edina, Missouri.  Pastor Dale Begley will officiate for the services.  Musical selections will be “A Mansion Over The Hilltop”, “Dancing In The Sky”, “I Can Only Imagine” and “Amazing Grace”.

Visitation will be held at 1:00 P.M. until the time of the memorial service.  Burial will be at the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Edina, Missouri.  It has been requested that memorials be made to the family in lieu of flowers.  The memorials may be left at or mailed to Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home, P.O. Box 1, Edina, MO 63537.

Chad William Harris, 45 of St. Francisville, MO died Friday, December, 9, 2016 at his home.

He was born November 10, 1971 the son of Roger and Sharon McGlothlin Harris. On June 1, 2014 he was united in marriage to Susan Johnson in St. Francisville, MO. She survives.

Other survivors include, two daughters, Emma Harris of St. Francisville, MO and Harlee Harris of Beardstown, IL, one grandson, Anthony of Beardstown, IL, his mother and step-father, Sharon and Ron Moeller of Ft. Madison, IA, his maternal grandmother, Darlene Luckett of Ft. Madison, IA, several aunts, uncles and cousins and many friends.

He was preceded in death by one son, Zachary Harris, his father, Roger Harris, paternal grandparents, Leon and Lois Harris and maternal grandfather, Harold Luckett.
Chad graduated from Burlington High School in Burlington, IA with the Class of 1990.

He had worked in construction.

Chad was a member of the Freedom in Christ Church in Kahoka, MO.

Chad enjoyed being outdoors fishing and riding his motorcycle. He loved spending time with his family and friends.

There will be a memorial service at a later date.

Dolores A. “Dee” Price

Dolores A. “Dee” Price, of Wayland MO, died Thursday, December 8, 2016 at the Blessing Hospital in Quincy, IL. She was born on February 6, 1935 in Burlington, IA, the daughter of James “Clyde” and Pearl Keever Fedrick. She grew up in Keokuk, IA and attended Keokuk public schools.

On October 3, 1958, Dolores was united in marriage to Donald E. Price in Hamilton, IL. He survives.
Other survivors include two sons, C. Wayne Price and his wife Jackie of Quincy, IL and Stephen Price and his wife Teresa of Blue Springs, MO, five grandchildren, Tyler Price, Sabrina Sparks, Sarah Schlenker, Pamela Price and Timothy Price, five great-grandchildren, Kelsea Price, Jennifer Sparks, Nicole Sparks, Payton Price and Nathaniel Schlenker, one brother, James (Jim) Long and his wife Connie of Burlington, IA, several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her step-father, “Pete” Long, one step-son, Donald R. “Donny-Ray” Price, one brother, John Fedrick, and a sister-in-law, Isabel Peterson.

Dolores had been employed at Artistic Cleaners in Keokuk for twenty-five years.
She enjoyed traveling with her husband and they traveled many miles together throughout the United States. She also enjoyed camping and playing card games with her family and friends.

There will be no services at this time.

The Vigen Memorial in Keokuk is assisting the family with arrangements.

Daryll H. Calvert, age 87, of Kahoka, MO, passed away Saturday, December 10, 2016 at the Clark Co. Nursing Home in Kahoka surrounded by his family.

Daryll was born at home in Revere on February 6, 1929, a son of Charles Henry and Agnes Marie Gardner Calvert.

He and Betty A. Stine were married on July 29, 1951 in Kahoka by Rev. Golden.

She preceded him in death on August 14, 2009.

Survivors include his foster children and their families: Jack (Judy) Wright of Keokuk, IA, Gary Wright of San Angelo, TX and Brenda (Terry) Aldridge of Kirkwood, IL; a sister, Carol (Vernon) Edlen of Kahoka, MO; sister-in-law, Jody Calvert of Napa Valley, CA; as well as nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty; his parents; and two brothers, Gene and Tom Calvert.

Daryll graduated from Revere High School with the Class of 1948. He kept close ties with his Revere friends through the years and thoroughly enjoyed Revere Alumni Banquets.

He was a retired employee of Ayers Oil Company and following his retirement drove the CCR-1 Cross Country teams to meets and then drove a school bus full time for 12 years. He also was in charge of maintenance until this past year at the Kahoka Senior Housing where he resided.

Daryll was a vital part of the community and county. He was raised in the Peaksville Christian Church and was a member of the Kahoka Christian Church for over 60 years. He was an active member of St. Francisville Lodge # 588, A.F. & A.M. and past master and of Kahoka Chapter # 40, O. E. S.; a member of the Kahoka Senior Housing Board; past Noble Grand of the I. O. O. F.; past Chamber of Commerce member and was active in both the Boy Scouts and the PTA when his kids were in school.

He and Betty enjoyed camping with their NEMO Camping Club, doing craft work following his retirement, and supporting and attending many benefits, church meals, and activities in the area.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, December 14, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at the Kahoka Christian Church with Rev. James Campbell officiating. Cremation will follow with inurnment at a later date in the Peaksville Cemetery. Special music was provided by Kathy Campbell, organist and Dan McAfee, vocalist. Music selections were: "He Touched Me", "Just A Closer Walk With Thee" and " When The Roll Is Called Up Yonder". Pallbearers were: Randy Justice, Jeff Edlen, Joe Humes, Mike Frazier, Andy Wright and Cody Wright. Honorary pallbearers were: Joe Garrels, Harland Roberts, Terry Aldridge, Robert Cochran, Ron Cochran, Richard Brewer and Cliff Sheffler.

Friends called at Wilson Funeral Home in Kahoka after 9 a.m. Tuesday with family receiving friends from 6-8 p.m. followed by a public Masonic Service.

Memorials are suggested to the Peaksville Cemetery or the Kahoka Christian Church.

Howard Fay 98, of Heritage Manor Apts. and formerly of Rickardsville, died Wednesday, December 14, 2016.  Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday at the Egelhof, Siegert & Casper Westview Funeral Home and Crematory, 2659 JFK Rd., Dubuque, Iowa, with the Rev. Linda VonFumetti officiating.  Private family burial will be at a later date.  Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Howard was born on January 6, 1918 near Edina, Missouri, the son of Mahlon and Rebecca (Lindsey) Fay.  He graduated from Edina High School and moved to Specht Ferry where he farmed.  In 1954, he moved to Richardsville and farmed until he retired.  On January 12, 1939, Howard married Ruth Carol Hacker.  She preceded him in death on March 20, 1949.  He later married Florence Paisley on March 7, 1954.  She preceded him in death on March 13, 2012.  Howard was a life time member of Sherrill Methodist Church and enjoyed working in his shop and tinkering with antique tractors, his Model T Ford and Hit and Miss Engines.

Howard is survived by his children, Patricia (Elmer) Miller of Cuba City, Wisconsin, John E. (Carol) Fay of Dubuque, Iowa, and Marilyn (Jerry) Frederick of Durango, Iowa; his step-children, Don (Linda) Paisley of Durango, Iowa, and Janet Henry of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; his grandchildren, Jack (Kathy) Miller, Kris (Derek) Thomas, Tammy (Mark) Hittenmiller, Tina Fay, Tracy (Paul) Edminster, Tricia Miller, Todd (Summer) Fay, James (Dana) Frederick, Robert (Sarah) Frederick and Melissa (Thomas) Nemmers; his step-grandchildren, Jeff (Sue) Paisley, Dwight (Carla) Paisley, Michelle (Brad) Isner and Mark Henry; twenty- great grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Robert (and sister-in-law Vernette) Fay, and a step-son-in-law, Bob Henry

Jerry Lee Simpson, age 63, of Novelty, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, December 13, 2016, at his home.  He was born December 23, 1952, Knox County, Missouri, the son of Billie Jim and Gertrude Ann Lockard Simpson.  He was united in marriage to Barbara Wamsley on July 7, 2003, in Clarence, Missouri.

Surviving are his wife Barbara Simpson of Novelty, Missouri, three children, Jerry (Melissa) Simpson, Jr. of Greentop, Missouri, Lisa (Wayne) Hatfield of Greentop, Missouri, Tosha Claybrook and fiancée Frank Prior of New Florence, Missouri, one brother Jim (Kay) Simpson of Camp Point, Illinois, three sisters, Joyce Simpson of Novelty, Missouri, Linda (Bernard) Froehlich of Harvest, Alabama, and Brenda (Steve) Elmore of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa, two grandchildren Da’Sohn Hatfield and Annalee Simpson, and several nieces and nephews.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.

Jerry graduated from Knox County High School in Edina, Missouri, and attended Kirksville Vocational Technical School for one year.    Jerry was engaged in woodworking most of his life and also worked at Adair Foods and Ortech in Kirksville, Missouri.  Jerry was known by many names, “Whistler”, “Houston” and “Old Man”.  In his younger years, Jerry spent many hours at flea markets buying, selling and refinishing antiques.  He loved dancing and playing video games.  Jerry was an avid hunter and fisherman.    He enjoyed his many trips to Canada with his son and family.  He liked to ride his motorcycle and his favorite trip was riding clear to Colorado with his wife.  Jerry was also known for his fish and tenderloin frying.  Many fun times were spent around a camp fire drinking jungle juice at a cook out, around a card table or on a night time four wheeler ride at the farm.  He enjoyed spending time with his family and his side kick (Dog) Missy Pooh.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, December 16, 2016, in the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Edina, Missouri.  After the services Jerry will be cremated and burial will be held later.

Reverend Teresa Griffith will officiate for the services.   Musical selections will be “Daddy’s Hands”, “How Do I Live” and “Your Man”.

Honorary bearers will be Jeff Love, John Love, Roy Love, Trevor Love, Frank Prior, Kenny Shaw and Charlie King, Sr.

Visitation will be held Friday, December 16, 2016, from 10 a.m. till time of services at 11 a.m. in the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Edina, Missouri.

DONALD T. WORRELL

Donald T. Worrell, age 97, of Kahoka, MO, died peacefully on Wednesday, December 14, 2016 in the Clark Co. Nursing Home in Kahoka.

Don was born December 29, 1918 near Chambersburg, MO, a son of Tom and Ruth Mitchell Worrell. He attended school at Chambersburg and Revere, graduating from Revere High School.

As a young man he started farming with his father. Not long after graduation he married LaVera Wallace and they moved to Farmington where he worked for the creamery. During this time they were blessed with a daughter, Janet. When they moved back to Kahoka, Don started farming with Harry Suter who treated him like a son. Fourteen years later, he and LaVera welcomed a second daughter, LaDonna. Harry later turned the farming operation over to Don who later turned it over to his son-in-law, John.

Following the death of his wife, LaVera, Don married Fern Grisham and they enjoyed traveling often, especially out west.

Survivors include a daughter, LaDonna (John) Parker of Luray; son-in-law, Lary Fountain of Kahoka; four grandchildren: Tamara Carter of Columbia, Sherilyn Ankeney of Des Moines, Shaun (P.J.) Parker of Luray, and Marcus Parker of Luray; seven great-grandchildren: Ryan Christian (Michelle Wilkerson) of Quincy, Keyan (Jennifer) Christian of Canton, Lukas Ankeney of Phoenix, Kaleb and JaKob Ankeney both of Des Moines, and Harrison and Grace Parker of Luray; a great-great grandchild: Zackary Priebe of Canton; step-children and step daughter-in-law and their families: Don Grisham, Sue Osterloh of Hamilton and Carolle Grisham of Keokuk; as well as nieces, nephews and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents and in-laws; his wives, LaVera and Fern; a daughter, Janet Fountain; two grandsons, Tony Fountain and Clayton Parker; a brother, Roland Worrell; a sister, Helen Martin; and a step-son and step-daughter, Ray Grisham and Norma Gibson.

Don was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ in Kahoka. He loved to hunt quail and pheasant and to fish. He loved the St. Louis Cardinals and in recent years watching T.V. He especially loved the visits from his friends and family.

Funeral services were held Saturday, December 17, 2016 at 10 a.m. at the United Church of Christ in Kahoka with Pastor Dixie Laube officiating. Special music was recordings “How Great Thou Art” and “Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus” by Alan Jackson and “Amazing Grace” by Ryan Christian.

Pallbearers were Ryan Christian, Keyan Christian, Shaun Parker, Marcus Parker, Kaleb Ankeney, Jakob Ankeney, Lary Fountain and John Parker.

Burial was in the Kahoka Cemetery.

Visitation was held Saturday from 9 a.m. at St. Paul United Church of Christ until time of services at 10 a.m.
Memorials were suggested to St. Paul United Church of Christ.

Lawrence LeRoy Dixson, age 90, of Hurdland, Missouri, passed away Sunday, December 18, 2016, in Harry S. Truman Veterans Memorial Hospital in Columbia, Missouri.

He was born August 20, 1926, in LaBelle, Missouri, the son of Roy M. and Irene Overstreet Dixson.  He was united in marriage to Frances Louise Long on April 24, 1947 in Hurdland, Missouri, and she preceded him in death on September 8, 1986.  Lawrence was also preceded in death by his parents and a brother Donald Dixson.

Surviving are seven children, Steve (Anita) Dixson of Hurdland, Missouri, Marty (Rebecca) Dixson of Liberty, Missouri, Greg Dixson of Novinger, Missouri, Alan (Nancy) Dixson of Edina, Missouri, Teresa ( Kyle) Stout of Hurdland, Missouri, Kenneth (Vanessa) Dixson of Kirksville, Missouri, Kevin (Marcia) Dixson of Kirksville, brother’s Gail Dixson of Edina, Missouri, Dale (Betty Ann) Dixson of Novelty, Missouri,  a sister Dorothy (Bob) Johnson of Quincy, Illinois; two step-brothers Ronnie Campbell of Ottumwa, Iowa, Eldon (Jane) Campbell of Edina, Missouri, step-sister, Sharon (Larry) Phillips of Olathe, Kansas; thirteen grandchildren, Shane, Shannon, Adriane, Dana, Ashley, Lance, Lindsay, Bryce and Whitney Dixson, Jessie and Mitchell Stout, Christopher and Dakota Stout Dixson.

Lawrence graduated from Edina High School.  He served his country in the United States Army during World War II from January 1944 to December 1946 obtaining the rank of Sargent.  Lawrence served in the 8th Armored Tank Division and later transferred to Co B 864th Aviation Engineer Battalion and was a part of the second retake of the Philippines.  After the War was over Lawrence was a part of those assigned to rebuilding air strips in Japan.

Lawrence was engaged in farming most of his life west of Hurdland.  Lawrence enjoyed farming, hunting and playing cards with family and friends.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, December 23, 2016, in the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Edina, MO.  Reverend Ken Berry will officiate the services.  Burial with full Military Honors will be in the Hurdland I.O.O.F. Cemetery.  Music will be provided by Debbie Peters and Audrey Hamlin, vocalist and Carol Hayes, organist.  Musical selections will be “Go Rest High On That Mountain” and “Daddy’s Hands”.

Casket bearers will be Shane Dixson, Shannon Dixson, Duane Hall, Ron Poore, Kenneth Campbell and Rex Sykes.

Honorary bearers will be Ray Prebe, Bill Hayes, Eugene Yoakum, Donald Easdale, Bill Hunziker, and Raymond Gilbert.

Visitation will be held Thursday, December 22, 2016, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Edina, MO.

Major General (Ret.) Colin Charles Campbell, age 85, of Edina, Missouri, passed away Saturday, December 17, 2016, in Columbia, Missouri.  He was born September 11, 1931, in Chicago, Illinois, the son of Virgil Hone and Genevieve Ellis Campbell.  He was united in marriage to Ann Sue Rogers on June 8, 1953, in Kirksville, Missouri.

Surviving are his wife Ann Sue Campbell of Edina, Missouri; two daughters, Sarah Baker and fiancée, Aaron Vansickle of Hurdland, Missouri, and Mary Campbell of Kirksville, Missouri; three grandchildren, Jessica Ann Rudd, Joseph Colin Rudd and Justin Hone Rudd; one great-grandson, Bradley Foster Reardon; one sister-in-law, Gloria Rogers of Ft. Worth, Texas; one niece, Tracie Coons; and one nephew, Trent Rogers.

Mr. Campbell was preceded in death by his parents.

Mr. Campbell attended rural schools in Knox County, graduated from Edina High School and graduated from University of Missouri in 1953.   Mr. Campbell was an entrepreneur with interest in farming, agri-business and environmental services.  Mr. Campbell enjoyed the time spent in Texas, reading, camping, cooking and watching Fox News.

Major General (Ret.) Colin C. Campbell was commissioned as a second lieutenant in the U.S. Army upon graduation from the University of Missouri in 1954, where he received a BS in Agriculture Economics.  His military schooling includes the Field Artillery basic and advanced courses, basic airborne school, and U.S. Army Command and General Staff College.

General Campbell’s early assignments included numerous positions of command and staff officer for the 16th Field Artillery Battalion, 2nd Armored Division in Europe, and the 101st Airborne Division.

General Campbell joined the Missouri National Guard in June, 1959, serving with the 2nd Howitzer Battalion, 128th Infantry, and 35th Infantry Division.  His positions included forward observer, intelligence officer and battery commander.  Other assignments included assistant training officer with 35th Command Headquarters, and 175th Military Police Battalion executive officer.  In February 1969, General Campbell was promoted to lieutenant colonel, serving as Battalion Commander.  Additionally, he was operations officer for the 35th Support Center of Rear Area Operations.

His attendance in the Command and General Staff College in 1972 ended with General Campbell high on the commandants list.  In 1977, he became Commander, 35th Support Center Rear Area Operations, and later, Director of State Headquarters, Headquarters Detachment.  General Campbell was recognized as a General of the Line on December 20, 1977.  He assumed command of the 35th Division on 25th August 1984 with promotion to major general.

His awards include the soldier’s Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Army of Occupation Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Reserve Medal with two Hour glasses, Army Reserve Component Achievement Medal with three Oak Leaf Clusters, Reserve Component Overseas Training Ribbon, Army Service Ribbon, Missouri conspicuous Service Medal, Missouri Commendation Medal, Missouri Long Service Ribbon (20 years), and Parachutist Badge.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, December 22, 2016, in the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Edina, MO.  Reverend Graig Connell will officiate the services.  Burial with full Military Honors will be in the Linville Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Thursday, December 22, 2016, from 9 a.m. till services at 11 a.m. in Hudson-Rimer funeral Home in Edina, MO.  Memorials may be made to Edina United Methodist Church or the Salvation Army.  Memorials may be left at or mailed to Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home, P.O. JOSEPH R. McFARLAND

Joseph R. McFarland, age 71, of Kahoka, MO, passed away at his home on Monday, December 19, 2016.

Joe was born October 23, 1945 at Williamstown, MO, the son of Lester and Naida Mitts McFarland. He graduated from Williamstown High School and worked on the family farm prior to entering the U. S. Marines. Following his honorable discharge, he returned home and worked for local farmers for several years prior to moving to Kahoka. He also worked at a farm machinery factory in Moline, IL and later at Sheller Globe in Keokuk.

Survivors include his three children: Joni Garner of Ewing, MO, Joe McFarland, Jr. of Menasha, WI and John McFarland of Baypoint, CA; several grandchildren; two sisters, Alice L. Shirey and Lola M. McDermott both of Canton, MO; two brothers, Robert McFarland of Corpus, Christi, TX and Ray McFarland of Carthage, IL; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Nancy Penick; two brothers, Lester, Jr. and Jimmie McFarland; three grandchildren; and brothers-in-law, Art Shirey and Joe McDermott.

Cremation rites have been accorded and a memorial service will be held at a later date.

Arrangements have been handled by Wilson Funeral Home in Kahoka.

Mitzi Yvonne Benson, age 63, of Lewistown, MO, passed away Tuesday December 20, 2016, in the Blessing Hospital in Quincy, IL.

She was born in Kirksville, MO, on November 2, 1953, the daughter of Lee O. and Velma Dean Menke Taylor.   She was united in marriage to Francis Benson on November 7, 1970, in LaBelle, MO. Mitzi is survived by her husband Francis of 46 years, two children Kelly (David) Cox of Canton, MO and Kevin (Shelia) Benson of Maywood, MO, five grandchildren, Kegan Brown, Megan Brown, Kaitlin Benson, Kyle Benson and Caleb Cox, two sisters Bonnie (Gary) Simpson of Rock Island, IL, and Billie (Robert) Peterson of Moline, IL.  Mitzi was preceded in death by her parents.

Mitzi enjoyed cooking, family and her grandchildren.  She especially loved attending her grandchildren’s sports activities and Christmas.  She also enjoyed shopping with good friends and visits to the KROC center swimming.

Funeral services will be held 11 A.M. Saturday, December 24, 2016, in the Coder Funeral Chapel in LaBelle, MO.  Reverend Ted Middleton will officiate the services.  Burial will be in the LaBelle Cemetery.  Musical selection will be “When I Get Where I’m Going” and “Go Rest High On That Mountain”.

Richard N. South, age 93, of Chesterfield, MO, formerly of Revere, died peacefully on Sunday, December 18, 2016 in the Brookdale Senior Living facility in Ballwin, MO.

Dick was born September 7, 1923 in Revere, MO, son of William South and LaVaughn Fox South. He graduated from Revere High School and received two years of additional education while serving in the United States Marine Corps. Dick was a Marine Staff Sergeant and was qualified as a rifle sharp shooter, radar technician, mathematics instructor and drill sergeant. He served in World War II and the Korean Conflict. He completed tours of duty in the Pacific theater and in southern China.

On September 10, 1944 he was united in marriage to Verna Marie Seward in Revere. She preceded him in death on May 1, 2009.

Survivors include his children: Michael (Sarah) South of Chesterfield, MO and Janet (Braxton) Fuller of Rio Vista, CA; four grandchildren: Jason (Versha) Munshi-South of Jackson Heights, NY; Matthew (Samantha Murray) South of Pasadena, CA; Benjamin South and Juliana South, both of Chesterfield, MO; three great-grandchildren: Kiran and Zulekha Munshi-South and Olive South; as well as other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Dick and Verna were members of the former Revere Community Church where he served as deacon for many years and as the adult Sunday school teacher. He was the owner of the Seward Lumber Co. in Revere and Kahoka Lumber Co. in Kahoka, which he later sold to Mick and Sheila Wood.

Following their retirement, he and Verna loved spending the next 18 years wintering in South Padre Island in their motor home and maintained many friendships up to the Christmas cards he recently received.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Wilson Funeral Home in Kahoka with Pastor Shawn McAfee officiating. Burial with military rites will follow in the Revere Cemetery.

Friends may call at Wilson Funeral Home after 9 a.m. Tuesday with family receiving friends from 10 a.m. until time of services at 11 a.m.

Memorials are suggested to the Revere Community Center or Revere Fire Department.

Mr. William Martin Cason, age 80, of Ewing, Missouri, passed away Thursday, December 22, 2016 in Ewing, Missouri.

He was born August 9, 1936 in Ewing a son of Raymond and Orlena Guynn Cason. He married Ruth Ann Wiemelt on March 21, 1975 at Salem Church in Quincy, Illinois.

Bill was a member of the Shrine and it’s Ansar Skeeter Patrol, 27 year member of the Three Pines Golf Course where he was a founding member,former Lewis County Water District Board Member, Ewing First Baptist Church, Quincy Consistory A.A.S.R., Monticello Lodge #58 A.F. & A.M. and the LaBelle O.E.S. #316.

Bill was an Air Force Veteran of the Korean War and recently took honor flight #38 to Washington D.C. on August 25, 2016. Bill was self employed and operated Cason Construction and Plumbing for many years. He had also worked at Quincy Soybean in maintenance for six years and most recently as a Knapheide Manufacturing driver.

He enjoyed golf, camping, his pet dogs Maggie and Annie, attending family reunions and his grandchildren’s school events, traveling, listening to country music and attending country western shows.

Survivors include his wife Ruth of Ewing; three sons, David Cason of Wichita, KS, Rodney (Missy) Cunningham of Palmyra, MO and Terry Cunningham of Ewing; four daughters, Lori (Tom) Green of Washington, MO, Sarah (Russ) Broker of Lake Saint Louis, MO, Lisa Neisen of Ewing and Tina (Craig) Neisen of Ewing; fifteen grandchildren; one brother, Jack (Janet) Cason of Taylor; two sisters Janet Klocke of Ewing and Jean (Eugene) Jones of Ewing and sister in law, Carolyn Cason of St. Charles, MO and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Robert J. Cason, sister Shirley Carter and his brother in law, Eugene Klocke.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Ewing First Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Jeff Brown officiating. Burial with military honors will be in Ewing Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be held Monday, December 26, 2016 from 4 until 8 p.m. with a Masonic Service following visitation at 8 p.m. at Ewing First Baptist Church.

The family suggests memorials be made to Three Pines Golf Course, Great River Honor Flight, Shriner’s Childrens Hospital or Ewing Sr. Housing.

Pallbearers will be: Jack Neisen, John Neisen, Jacob Broker, Nicholas Broker, Jerry Cunningham, Will Green and Will Neisen.

Robert “Bob” Maurice Featherlin, 82 of rural Lewistown, Missouri died Saturday, December 24, 2016 at the Country Aire Retirement Estates in Lewistown.

Bob, the son of Maurice and Mabel (Sharp) Featherlin was born on August 4, 1934 in Doddsville, Illinois. He was united in marriage to Mildred “Millie” Peak on August 23, 1953 in the Ebenezer Church in rural Macomb, Illinois.

He was an Elder and member of the Lewistown Christian Church, farmed and was a beloved bus driver for the Lewis County C-1 School District for 23 years. He enjoyed traveling with his wife, Millie, and loved spending time with his kids, grandkids and great-grandkids.

Bob is survived by his wife Mildred “Millie” Featherlin of Lewistown, MO.; two children, Steven “Steve” Robert (Lee Ann) Featherlin of Hampton, VA. and Cynthia “Cindy” Ann (Eric) Georges of Highlands Ranch, CO.; five grandchildren, Brandon (Katie) Georges, Amy Georges and husband James Loring, Stephanie Featherlin, Cory Featherlin and Alex Featherlin; eight great-grandchildren; two sisters, Joyce Dean of Sedalia, MO. and Sandra (Alan) Musser of La Grange, MO.; and numerous nieces & nephews.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Bonnie Cobb.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 29, 2016 at 2:00 PM at the Lewistown Christian Church in Lewistown, Mo. with Rev. Paul Milliken officiating. Interment will be in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, Macomb, Illinois.

Visitation will be held Wednesday evening from 6 until 8 PM at Arnold’s Funeral Home in Lewistown.

Richard Perry Sharpe was surrounded by family when he peacefully passed on December 22, 2016 at 76 years of age in Knoxville Tennessee at Physicians Regional Medical Center.

Richard was born February 9, 1940 in Hannibal, Missouri, Son of George (Bud) and Alta Brower Sharpe. Richard was united in marriage to Melinda Wilson Sharpe on in 2001.

Richard was a farmer, real estate agent and small business owner for several years.

He is survived by his wife Melinda Sharpe of Knoxville, Tennessee; Daughter, Linda Sharpe of St. Charles, Missouri; Son, Richard and Becky Sharpe of Shelbyville, Missouri, and Son, Mike and Abbie Sharpe of Quincy, Illinois;  six grandchildren, Randy and Paige (wife), Ryan and Kalynn (wife), Ranay, Rachelle, Amanda Jo and Dakota; one great-grandchild, Leighton.

Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 27, 2016, in the LaBelle Cemetery.  Visitation will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday, till time of graveside services in the Coder Funeral Chapel in LaBelle, MO.

Joyce A. Irvin, age 72, of Revere, Missouri, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at her home.

Joyce A. Irvin was born November 29, 1944 in Keokuk, IA. She was the daughter of Wilbert Keller and Darlene Boatman Keller. April 4, 1997, she was united in marriage to James A. Irvin in Clark County, Missouri, he survives.

Joyce graduated from Hamilton High School. She was a homemaker most of her life. She enjoyed Elvis Presley, "pen paling", reading, crocheting, and watching TV/movies. One of her favorite things was watching her beloved LA Lakers and St. Louis Rams which became a yelling match with the TV.

Joyce is survived by her husband James A. James Earnest “Ernie” Turner

James Earnest “Ernie” Turner, age 80, of Russellville, passed away Wednesday, December 28, 2016, at his home.

He was born May 25, 1936, in Palmyra, Missouri a son of Francis M. and Kathryn Olinger Turner.  On September 5, 1959, in Philadelphia, Missouri Ernie was united in marriage to Helen Bonnell who survives at their home.

He was a 1954 graduate of Lewistown High School.  Ernie served his country in the United States Air Force, receiving his honorable discharge in December of 1957.

Throughout Ernie’s life he worked in a variety of jobs.  After his service in the air force, Ernie worked as an auto mechanic in Ford dealerships and other automotive shops in Quincy , IL, worked as a mechanic with Johnston (John Deere) Implement Company  in Lewistown, MO, owned and operated Turner's Café in Labelle, MO for over 15 years; partner in K & T Construction; and most recently retiring as Maintenance Supervisor with the City of Russellville.

Ernie was always looking for ways to give back to the communities he lived in and belonged to several organization during his lifetime, namely as a member of the LaBelle Masonic Lodge 222 AF & AM where he was a 32 degree Mason, a past member of the Moila Shriners and Capitol City Shrine Club, (where he was a buckaroo, a clown and member of Capitol Mini Cars for the Shriners) and also a member of the Scottish and York  Rite.  Ernie’s love of country led him to his membership in the Roscoe Enloe American Legion Post 5 and he was a member of the International Legion of Honor and the Lewistown Baptist Church.

He loved traveling to Mountain View, Arkansas and listening to bluegrass music.  He was never one to sit still, so in his spare time he restored antique tractors, along with keeping busy on various other projects on his farm. He enjoyed living in the country, being a good friend and a good neighbor.

In addition to his wife of 57 years, he is survived by two daughters and three sons-in-law, Melody and Keith Sparrow of Edgerton, Kansas; Deanna and Gary England of Novinger, Missouri and Garrie Miller of St. Cloud, Florida; two brothers, Frank and Jana Turner of Payson,  Illinois and Chester Turner of Lewistown, Missouri.  Two sisters Kaye Shaw and Carol and Larry Hester both of Pauls Valley, Oklahoma; three grandchildren, Jeremy Knoche and wife Penny, Andrea Gunkler and husband Ian and Trey Knoche; three great grandchildren, Caleb and Ava Knoche and Zoe Gunkler, along with other relatives and many friends.

Ernie was preceded in death by his parents and one daughter, Emma Jennette Miller.

The family will receive friends from 4:00-6:30 p.m. Monday, January 2, at the Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home in Russellville, with a prayer service at 6:30 p.m.

Graveside services, with military funeral honors, will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 3, at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville, Missouri.

Bonnie Lou Provorse (Smoot), 86, of Shelbina, Missouri, passed away at 3:20pm on Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at the Salt River Community Care Center.

Bonnie was born on February 8, 1930 to Darrell and Sylvia Smoot.  She was united in marriage to Edward Neil Provorse on July 11, 1947 in Hannibal, Missouri.  He preceded her in death on January 14, 1984.

She is survived by two children, Marty (Betty Bob) Provorse and Vanessa (Steve) Benn; six grandchildren, Melissa (Rick) Hays, Nicki (Mike) Papazoglou, Doug (Ashly) Provorse, Emily (Steve) Kruger, Amy (Tony) Mencer, Casey (Tiffany) Finnigan, and Jessica (Sean) Baymiller; twenty-two great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren,; one brother, Bobby Joe Smoot; three sisters, Sonia Schaffer, Louise (Larry) Martin, and Barbara Jane McCrum.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by one brother, Billy Jean Smoot, and two sisters, infant Patricia Anne Smoot and Betty Sue Dusenberry.

Bonnie was a member of the 1st Baptist Church in Monroe City, Missouri.  She enjoyed bowling, sewing, cooking, watching the St. Louis Cardinals play baseball, and listening to music especially Elvis and Blake Shelton.  Her biggest enjoyment was taking care of and spending time with her family.

Funeral services will be held at 2pm on Friday, December 30, 2016 at the Greening-Eagan-Hayes Funeral Home in Shelbina, Missouri, with Pastor Jim Bilbro as the officiant.  Visitation will be held at 1pm until the time of service on Friday at the funeral home.  Burial will be held in the Hunnewell I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Hunnewell, Missouri.  Memorials may be made to Shelby County Senior Citizens.

Mary Lou Jerome, 66, of Kirksville passed away Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at Northeast Regional Medical Center.

The daughter of Robert Davis and Vera Marie (Mitschele) Holdren, she was born September 30, 1950 in Scotland County, Missouri.  On August 17, 1969 in Baring, Missouri, she was united in marriage to Clinton Stephen Jerome.

Mary Lou is survived by her husband, Clinton; one son, Clinton Stephen Jerome and wife Brandi of Greentop, Missouri; one daughter, Tawnyia Jerome of Jefferson City, Missouri; four grandchildren, Stephen Matthew Jerome, Isabelle Marie Jerome, Hobert Frohman and Quinton Frohman; two brothers, Bill Holdren and wife, Joyce of Baring, Missouri, and Jack Holdren and wife, Elaine of Omaha, Nebraska; two sisters, Shirley Mescher and husband, Dale of Burlington, Iowa, and Lea Flynn and husband, John of Baring, Missouri; her mother-in-law, Rosalind Jerome of Kirksville; one sister-in-law, Blanche Kelly and husband Danny of Troy, Missouri; aunt and uncle, McKinley and Elinon Ayers; aunt, Elaine Couch and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her father-in-law, Charles Clinton Jerome; and two brothers, John David and Joseph Alva Holdren.

Mary Lou attended Baring Elementary School and graduated from Knox County High School in 1968. She attended Northeast Missouri State University for one year. She was employed as an operator for AT&T in Kirksville for one year before transferring to AT&T in Kirkwood, Missouri, for several years. She was then a stay at home mother and raised her children. She also did child care in her home during that time. She received her degree in Elementary education from University of Missouri in St. Louis. She taught in the Valley Park School District. In 1983 she started working as a computer research specialist for the Parkway School District until she retired in 2007. Mary and Clinton moved to Kirksville where she worked for the Bank of Kirksville for the past eight years.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Eureka, Missouri. She enjoyed her grandkids, basket work, crafts, sewing, quilting, gardening and her flowers.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 8, 2017, at Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home with Reverend Leland Holland officiating. Burial will be in Green Castle Cemetery in Green Castle, Missouri, with Stephen Matthew Jerome, Stephen Jerome, Charles Couch, Danny Kelly, William Holdren, Mac Ayers as pallbearers and Kevin Holdren, Bob Delaney, Jack Holdren, Brian Clay, Roger Kellison, Hobert Frohman, and Isabelle Jerome as honorary pallbearers.

Visitation with the family will be from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Sunday at the Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home, 2100 E. Shepherd Ave., Kirksville.

Bertha Belle (Cochenour) McBride, 95, of Farmington, Iowa, passed away at 3:15 a.m. Friday, January 6, 2017 at the Clark County Nursing Home in Kahoka, Missouri.

Bertha was born April 28, 1921. She was the daughter of Earl and Florea (Hopp) Cochenour. She was united in marriage on January 11, 1941 in Memphis, Missouri to Clair A. McBride. They were the parents of three children; Clair B. McBride, Betty Jean “Jeannie” DeWitt and Nancie Holmes.

Bertha was a member of the First Baptist Church in Farmington, Iowa. She was employed at Moores Business Forms in Kahoka for a number of years. Bertha lived most of her life in Clark County, Missouri working on the farm helping her parents and later her husband after their marriage. After retirement, they moved to Farmington, Iowa. She was very gifted with skills in crochet, embroidery and sewing, making many gifts for her loved ones over the years. Bertha’s love for cooking was evident at family gatherings where her homemade breads and pies were served. Her love for her husband of almost fifty-five years and her family was shown by all the family pictures and her smiles when she talked about them. She enjoyed camping with her family at Western Illinois Old Threshers and Mt. Pleasant Old Threshers during the annual antique tractor shows.

Bertha or “Bertie” as many called her in the later years is survived by her son; Clair B. (Marlene) McBride of Farmington, Iowa and daughter; Nancie Holmes of Kahoka, Missouri, eleven grandchildren; Shelia (Chris) Bell, Joe McBride of Farmington, Iowa, Teresa (Jim) Norton, Michael (Kari) Bevans, John (Melissa) Bevans, Curtis (Marlena) Mack all of Kahoka, Missouri, Ronnotta (Dan) McCormick, Ronna (Alan) Mayberry, Regina Waddle all of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa, Ronald (Belinda) DeWitt of Solon, Iowa, Aleta Florea of Hamilton, Illinois; twenty one great grandchildren and sixteen great great grandchildren, her brother; Earl Wayne (Betty) Cochenour of Luray, Missouri, son-in-law; Ronald DeWitt of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa, as well as nieces, nephews, friends and her Clark County Nursing Home Family.

Bertha was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband; Clair A. McBride, her daughter; Betty (Jeannie) DeWitt, son-in-law; Larry Holmes, two granddaughters; Terri Beth Holmes and Megan Florea in infancy, one great great grandson; Kylar Campbell in infancy, three sisters; Eva Shaffer, Doris Hines and Barbara Claouser; two brothers; Sherman Robert Cochenour and Gary Franklin Cochenour.

She will be greatly missed by all those who loved her.

Burial will be at Greenglade Cemetery in Farmington, Iowa.
