Charles William (Jack) Sparrow, Jr., age 83 of LaBelle, MO died Tuesday, September 23, 2014, in the Country Aire Retirement Estates in Lewistown, MO.
He was born July 17, 1931, in Adams County, IL, the son of Charles William Sparrow, Sr. and Opal Edna Cook.
He was united in marriage to Ida Mae Tjaden on June 1, 1952, and to this union three children were born; Teresa Lucille, Charles Keith and Ronda Louise. He was later married to Betty Miller and she preceded him in death.
Jack was also preceded in death by his parents, three brothers Wayne (Pork) Sparrow and his wife Cleta Pearl, Fred Sparrow and Ronnie Sparrow, two sisters one in infancy and Ella Mae (Tillie) Wilkie and her husband Albert and a son-in-law Gene Parker.
Surviving are three children, Teresa Parker of Canton, MO, Keith Sparrow and wife Melody of Ortonville, MI and Ronda Wolter and husband Scott of Quincy, IL, one step-daughter DeVonna Miller of Quincy, IL, three grandchildren; Jarrod Phillips and wife Brenna of Canton, MO, Thor Wolter of Quincy, IL, and Athena Wolter of St. Joseph, MO, one step grandson Gene Parker and wife Brandi of Hannibal, MO, two great-grandsons Brendan and Callen Phillips of Canton, MO, two step great granddaughters Kira and Maggie Parker of Hannibal, MO, three sisters Janice Murphy and husband George of rural LaBelle, MO, Karen Dodd and husband Bennie of Hannibal, MO, Lynn Reynolds and husband John of Fulton, MO, two sisters-in-law, Martha Olson and Kathryn Sparrow, numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
Jack received his education in Illinois. He was engaged in farming and truck driving for many years in Northeast Missouri. Jack served his country in the United States Army. He was a member of LaBelle Christian Church. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with family and friends.
Funeral services were held 3 p.m. Thursday, September 25, 2014, in the Coder Funeral Chapel in LaBelle, MO. Chaplin Paul Milliken officiate the services. Burial will be held at a later date in the Lewistown Cemetery.
