Joan Roller

Joan Roller, 60, of Ashton died peacefully Tuesday, January 13 at her daughter’s home in Kahoka surrounded by her loving family.
She was born December 14, 1954 in Carthage, IL the daughter of George and Lois Brewer Tanner. After her parents’ death she was raised by her grandparents Clarence and Lela Brewer and her uncle Albert Brewer. She was united in marriage to Rex Roller on February 2, 1987 in Kahoka, Missouri. He survives.
Other survivors include two sons; Jeremy Morgan of Kahoka and Jason Morgan and his companion Dawn Kirchner of Wayland, three daughters; Ashley O’Day and her husband Shannon of Kahoka, Summer Roller of Kahoka and Tiffany Roller of Carthage, six grandchildren; Braydon, Breanna and Briston Kirchner, Cali O’Day, Nevada Roller and Georgia Seabold, a brother; Gene Tanner of Kahoka, two sisters; Patty Gastorf and her husband Bill of Cantrall, IL, Judy Wheeler and her husband Keith of Canton, three aunts; Ozelma Shoup of Kahoka, Gladys Wallingford and her husband Bob of Farmington, and Bonnie Brewer of Kahoka, along with numerous brothers and sisters in law, nieces, nephews and cousins.
She is now reunited with her parents, grandparents, Clarence & Lela Brewer, grandfather, Ray Brewer, two brothers; Stanton Tanner and Gary Tanner, her sister, Linda Plenge, and three uncles; Charlie Shoup, Albert Brewer and Eddie Brewer, mother and father in law, Noble and Vivian Roller, brothers and sister in law and a niece, Kari Wright.
Joan graduated from Clark County High School with the class of 1973. During high school she was confirmed at St. Paul United Church of Christ in Kahoka. Later in life she became a member of Bible Baptist Church in Kahoka.
For the past twelve years she worked for Dean and Susanne Webster until her health started to fail.
She loved gardening and watching the hummingbirds float by her. Rex and she enjoyed loading in the car, taking small drives looking around at the local scenery and taking in a couple antique stores along the way. Most of all she loved being around her children and grandchildren. There was nothing more treasured in her life than her family. She was loved as much as she loved and the family is looking forward to the day they will see her again.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday at the Bible Baptist Church in Kahoka with Pastors Orlie Yoder and Tim Roller officiating. Burial will be in the Kahoka Cemetery.
Visitation will be held after 1 p.m. Friday at the Vigen Memorial Home in Kahoka with the family meeting with friends from 5 – 7 p.m.
